Reno-Fernley in June ~ 4.1 Mile Track!!!

Come on out and enjoy one of the West's longest tracks on June 23-24! Reno-Fernley boasts a 4.1 mile, 25-turn track. It's like a huge autocross on the top, and a horsepower festival on the bottom. Cost for this event will be $200 for one day, $375 for two days. As always, the event will include a supply of bottled water and Gatorade, healthy snacks, catered lunches, instruction, and at least TWO HOURS of track time! Go to our website at www.team-racing.org and click on the "schedule" link to sign up.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

That was a week before Reno SCCA TT. I might go. Any S2000 going? I can get some advice because I only drive on the track 2 times (both at RFR).

There is a guy on the (of all things) Corvette forum bringing his S2000, so you certainly won't be alone.

I would assume that S2000's would be allowed to drive with just the factory roll hops since this was placed on an (that's for you Westside) S2000 site.

Yes, the S2000 factory hoops will do just fine. But nobody will be testing them out, right?

I'm with you there, marlins! I prefer my cars shiny side up. And we have instructors available to help keep them that way.

I am going to give this serious thought. We are coming through there around June 8th for SacS2KDays VI and coming back here around the 16th so it would be a tough turn around. I will have to see how things go. I will also have to have my trailer by then so I can pull my race tires down there.

Just keep me posted, marlins. Yeah, that is a haul. But a 4.1 mile track might be worth it. I flew out to Florida once and rented a racecar just to play at Sebring. Then again, nobody ever accused me of having my head screwed on straight. But it was SO worth the trouble. What a great track Sebring is!

Pricing goes up on May 31st, so that could be a goal. That and watch the drivers list (once I post it) -- once it fills, that'll be it. At the rate things are going, I'd say that the event will be close to full by the end of this month.

I got word from Carl (bimdub) that Reno-Fernley was going to be rented out, not sure if it was the S2KCA or another club that was doing it. Is this the event? Normally they do not allow convertibles on the track due to rollover safety issues. I'd really like to go as I have motivation for learning the limits of my car.

I take my car on that track twice already. I ran a fun run day and take class at RFR from Procontrol. It's ok as long as you have a stock bar in place.
