My email to Eskridge Honda
They finally posted pics of the "like new" S2000 that we were going to go look at last Saturday. Here is my email to the used car manager. (If you are curious, check out the photos on the website for Eskridge Honda. I'm sure some may find the mods to their taste - but they are not to ours and should have been disclosed by the salesman.)
Mr. Clark, I’d just like to point out the sales tactics of one of your team members. I had been talking to a gentleman named Brian about a blue 2008 S2000 that you have in your used car inventory. He told me that this car was a recent trade in and no pictures were available as of yet – but I would not be disappointed if I made the six hour drive to OKC to see this car. I asked many questions – has it been smoked in, does it have any door dings, any scratches on the wheels, etc., and his standard response was “Man, this car only has 5,000 miles on it – it is like new!”. I told Brian that I would make the six hour drive to see (and purchase if all was as he said) this car. Last Friday, I called one last time to confirm that the car was still in stock and available. He assured me that it was “come on up – you won’t be disappointed”. I explained one more time “I’m getting ready to drive six hours ; I’m looking for a car that looks like it is brand new – are you sure this is what I’m looking for?”. He assured me again that it was and offered to walk around the car with his cell phone and describe everything about the car. I’m glad he did…as he looked at the car he finally told me that it had a carbon fiber hood on it. I told him that I was no longer interested – I was looking for a car that was as new as possible and was not interested in a car that had any modifications. As I continue to search for a newer S2000, I see that you have now posted pictures of the blue 2008 S2000. After seeing the multiple modifications to this car, I am quite upset that one of your salesman would describe this car as “like new” and entice a potential buyer to drive six hours one way to view it. Needless to say, had I driven six hours to have this vehicle waiting for me I would have had a cow. I hope these are not the normal business practices condoned by Eskridge Honda. Regards, Jim

Unfortunately he will get a "pat on the back" for almost getting the customer in the door...That letter needs to get sent to the General Manager of the dealership. Used car manager will get no results and will not help future customers from getting burned. I would love to make some used car salesman references and the equivalent of used car managers, but I don't want to offend anybody.

Very nice letter Jim, considering the circumstances. The Cusco sticker is you man, not to mention all the other "goodies" that make this car a wet dream for 18 year olds. Claudia would be rockin a phat whip yo!

The only thing she'd be whippin' would be me if I took her to look at something like that! We may (only maybe) head to Katy to look at a car on Saturday. If we do, I'll shoot you a text amigo!
