Bishops Castle take two

Everyone, I started this thread to reschedule the bishop castle drive. I wanted to see which date work best for all. Saturday July 15th or Sunday July 16th . Hope to have a set date in a week or so.
Update we will be going on both days. Could we get a list of who is going on what day.
Saturday Meet time 8:30 am gog vistor center. If it rains we will reschedule.

Not sure if I could make the 15th, I would have to apply for a day off. I definitely couldn't do the 16th though. So obviously my vote goes for the 15th.

If on the 16th, is there any chance to move the meeting time up a bit so it's not so late when we get home? I know Ron/Hedy thought about making the trip over/down, but had a concern with the late drive back to Kimball on a Sunday night.

Nancy and I are looking forward to the drive, and I'm sure many others are as well.

Update to the update. There is a lot of interest to the Bishop Castle drive. Some of the club can not make on one day or the other. So I will plan to do the drive on both Saturday and Sunday that way we can get everyone who has not seen the castle out to see it. I also forgot that Tim last drive will be on Sunday then he will be leaving our humble little group and moving away. So if any one would like to do both days feel free to join us.

Don't sweat it John, I am normally in the front and I ALWAYS wait up for the not so fast people, so no one looses their way. All is enjoyed at any speed.

Not a problem!!! Many of us take it easy. I learned a LONG TIME ago that you need to "drive your own drive" (or "ride your own ride"). Stay in your comfort zone. Plus it's good just to "smell the roses"!

I'll be back Saturday morning around 9 AM, but I've got some crazy stuff going on right now. It looks like I may be spending my first few days actually moving to Spearfish instead of the later days during the week that I had planned on. :( I've got some things to try to work out and will be posting an update later this week.

Thanks Terry for putting this together!!! Are you planning to head down 115 to Florence, etc to go to the Castle? If so, would it be easier to meet at the AFA overlook as we did before? It's been a while since I was at the GOG and I don't remember any short cuts from there back over to 115.

Yeah - that will work as well. I was just not sure which meeting place would be better for the route to the Castle.

As for the "northern" crew, do we want to set up a couple places along the way to meet up? I'm sure R&H, Brandon and myself will meet at my house, but if there are any others that want to meet there, that will work fine. We will head from my place to I25 so if anyone wants to meet at US34 and I25 (or CO402 and I25 - which is a lot less congested), let me know.

i've got 3 new guys for sure that are rolling with me and maybe one more. lou is coming but i am not sure where he lives. we'll be coming from the central location and will meet you at that overlook.

of course the rest of the group lives in the springs and beyond. i spoke with one guy that lives in new mexico who might be there. so will see.

Rod, I heard that part of hwy 115 was washed away and will not be open for 11 days. So we may have to go in from Colorado City or hwy 50 out of Pueblo. We could also meet at the old Pike Peak Speeway in Fountain. Let me know your thoughts. Springs people we can still meet at gog and meet up with the other where ever they want.

Sure the more the merrier. We are going both Saturday and Sunday there is Denver folks going each day. So you can hook up with them on either day just look to see where they are meeting and come join the fun.

Everyone I checked on the road closure. And 115 is closed between Penrose and Florence. I figured we could take hwy 115 out of the Springs to Penrose hop on hwy 50 to hwy 67 hop on 67 to hwy 165 to the castle. We will meet Steve and Mindy in penrose so they will not have to come in to town double back. How does that sound to everyone.
