Auto X Vids Up!!!

Ok, so another great event here in Denver. Took 2nd in AS. And 10th overall in Novice. Currently in points I'm 1st in AS, and holding 7th in Novice. So my yr is off to a good start. What is great about it, I'm running on M/S All Season tires. I hope to get a set of race tires soon.

It’s hard to give truly good feedback not having been in the car so I could really see everything. It looks to me like someone was giving you good feedback between runs because you corrected your most obvious problem after the 1st run for the most part. On the first run you rarely had both hands on the wheel and it really helps on any course, especially a tight one like that. Not having been there it’s hard to say for sure but I’m thinking you might have been better off using 2nd gear instead of 1st through the slaloms and some of the turns. While you would have been maybe a little slower to accelerate and you’d have lost some engine braking the smoothness of 2nd gear likely would have more than made up the difference. The S2000 has always been a car the rewards smoothness. Practice being smooth too. Good improvements in each run so just keep it up.

You would have loved our old autocross site. You almost never went back to first gear used 3rd a lot, and even sometimes used 4th. When the NCCC (Corvette Club) used the site most of it was run in 3rd and 4th gears. Sadly Hurricane Ivan got our site.

thanks for the feed back. I would use second more often if my tires would allow it, but they dont. I get to much speed in second so i end up doing huge drifts, and they frown on that.

Also if ya didnt notice, yes there was "cube" in the middle of the track, you could go left or right, turned out right was fastest. But made it fun if you hadnt made up your mind about which way to go before you got there

Also, I am able to review the video between runs, so it helps me find where I'm losing most of my time. :D
