Colorado S2000's,
Craig Latzke and I have started planning an "NSX Ride the Rockies" for this Summer. For those not familiar, "NSX Ride the Rockies" (RTR) is a term coined for a drive that took place back in July of 2001. 10 NSXs, four S2000s, and one Integra Type-R participated in the drive (one NSXer drove in from Louisiana). We drove about 580 miles over 2 days (310 the first, 270 the second), stopping in Carbondale for the evening. It was a very nice weekend - great roads, great cars, great people, beautiful state, good food, etc.

thanks for posting this will. i would love to do this and look into getting those days off. i don't think too many of the nsx owners like me. so let me know if they put chris and i on a banned list or something before i make any arrangements.

We're doing a different route than in 2001, still being finalized.

I wish I was closer to Colorado.
By chance are you going through Estes Park and over Trail Ridge Road?

Hello all, just a quick update, we still have 5 rooms available for any NSX'ers or S2000's if anyone still wants to join us for the drive.
Craig and I are discussing what kind of social event to plan for Saturday evening. On RTR 2001 we had a wine and cheese tasting "social hour" later Saturday night after dinner, it was a pretty good time. Craig and I would like to do something similar, but thought we'd solicit the group for suggestions. Some possible thoughts:
Food:
Wine, cheese, crackers, snack food, soda, other alcohol
ice cream (buy ice cream & toppings at local supermarket...serve ourselves)
Activity:
NSX / S2000 / Honda Trivia.
Game(s) (poker, uno, scrabble, chess, scategories, etc)
Watch movie
Other thoughts?

That was part of the route in 2001. It is pretty neat (highest paved road in North America, beautiful, etc.). However, eliminating it is one of the changes for this year - for the following reasons...
On a summer weekend there is pretty dense traffic driving to the park.
For those without a yearly RMNP or all-parks pass it adds $20 to the drive.
Driving in the park is very slow, lots of people not paying attention.
Parking at the top of trail ridge is impossible unless you double/tripple-park in the long motorhome spaces (and then use an NSX owner's body to physically shield an S2000 from a motorhome driven by stupidity himself).

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it. I couldn't switch weekends off with my co-workers.
