I have a huge event the night before. It's the grand re opening of the Alley Cat in denver. Anyone associated with the S2kca is welcome to come! Free drinks from 9-11! It's a huge birthday party for me and some of my friends.

okay all this is what i came up with. rt #1 golden to winter park. winter park to kremmling. kremmling to walden via highway 14. walden to ft collins. ft collins to denver.
approx millage 320 at around 6 hrs plus lunch.

rt #2 golden to winter park, winter park to walden, (turn off at road 125 just past grandby) then walden to ft collins and ft collins to denver. approx milage 300 at around 5 1/2 hrs. the road 125 is suppose to be a little straiter.

write back your thoughts, this should be a fun drive.

I used to ride this on the VFR quite a bit, there are no shorter routes up past Winter Park and Grandby, Walden is the next and only turn back over the mountains down the Poudre. The only other one is over Trail Ridge but its not open yet (That might be a better option later in the summer)

I cant make it do to a previous engagement, but might be able to meet up with everyone if your coming through Ft. Collins/Loveland to eat or something.

I do agree that this may be a little long, so I have a new proposal and want to see what ya'll think that way we can make sure to include as many people as we can.

My vote is to drive up to winterpark and have an early lunch, then drive back down to I-70, take the million dollar highway through blackhawk through golden gate canyon back to Golden. We will be back tracking from winterpark, but I bet that pass is just as fun on the way back. Alot of twisties. Ya'lls thoughts?

I definitely would like to try and do the original drive through trail ridge road once it opens up.

What do ya'll think?

the proposed drive is a long drive, i agree, use this drive later during the summer when we can have it more organized to get more drivers, also more traffic. denver's alt. drive is okay by me.
