I looked at the event calender.... It said the the drive was headed to Breck. As in Breckenridge?? If thats the case we might want to change the drive route. It might be too snowy for us to head to Breckenridge. Either way, it looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate for this weekend. Maybe we could do the drive on the 19th.

I can't make it this weekend but If it gets moved to next weekend, and it looks like it will, I'm in.

Nancy and I would be a "maybe" if there is one this weekend - but next week we will be on "Spring Break" and up in South Dakota.

I vote for next week due to weather issues, or we can easily change the route.

Yeah, the weather is "iffy" at best for both Saturday and Sunday. We will be at the School of Mines all day Saturday; Sunday I hope to spend some time "farkeling" my new motorcycle!

I think that is seems pretty obvious that we will shoot for next week on Sunday at 10am. We can change the route though, so we don't get all the sand from the recent snows. What route were ya'll thinking of?

This is what the Event Schedule says:

"March 12th, Sunday 10:00 AM Monthly Drive 285 to Bailey to Breck to Wolcock, meet at gas station at 285 & C-470"

We pushed it back a week to the March 19th, I just wanted to make sure we are still doing it. However, there is no gas station at 285 & C470, actually there is nothing there at all. There is a gas station at C470 and Morrison road, which is about 2 miles north of 285.

What does everyone want to do??

lets play it by ear. hopefully the weather will work with us. currently weather.com is reporting rain. but we all know that the weather report will vary the closer we get to the weekend.

I agree with Silk, lets play this one by ear and it is a good assumption that we won't be driving to Breck. Any thoughts on a couple routes?

PS Is it me or am I the only one that can't stop looking at Silk's sig

Kyle is rigth there is no gas station there at 285 but there is one on morrison. As for good drive ideas here are a few that i have done in the past on the bike
1: Golden Gate to 119 to central city to central city park way to look out mnt. about 150 or so miles

2: Coal creek canon to 119 to either central city and follow 1's route or go to boulder, or (metal block) whats the place taht is at end of 119 and then come back

3:285 to GREAT chinise (forgive my spelling) then out to south park and come back, or go all the way to breck and take I70 back.

I only have food place that i know of on 285 most bike rides we dont stop to eat, but we could always find some good places on any of the other routes

Also all of these runs can be done in rain or light snow. But if it was snow we would have to be careful of no spin outs, and just play it safe, rain would not be a problem

The Yacht Club in Wolcott is a pretty good place to eat on a warmer day. For now, it's probably a bit too cold.

What was wrong with last weekend? I only had 12" of snow in my driveway!

Ha Ha, no you aren't the only one who can't stop looking at Silks sig.

As far as the drive goes, and assuming the weather is good, should we just meet at our regular Loaf and Jug??? (102 Ruby Dr., Golden, CO 80403 - for those who don't know). This would put us on familiar roads. Just an idea...

Hey Boyd, Sunday has always seemed to work better for people and I personally have plans on Sat.

So, I vote for Sunday for a drive this weekend since the weather is going to be so nice. I might not be able to go, but wanted to get this thread started,

Terry - Could you update the title to the thread to show the correct date, thanks.

It looks like Saturday is going to be the nicer of the two days. Its looks like its going to rain on Sunday. If I was going to vote for a day, it would be Sunday because I have to work on Saturday.... but not if its going to rain. If you get a good response for Saturday, I say "GO FOR IT".
