I love the power gains but it is impractical in Northern CA where the normal fuel octane is 92. After talking to Scott at King Motor Sports my original thoughts have come true.

What were the original thoughts? Are you planning on getting rid of the ECU now?

Ya, give us more info on this.

After driving with it with 5 gallons of 100 octane lead free in a full tank of 91 octane (best you can get is SF bay area) I put in 2 gallons of 91 when the tank burned off a little bit, and still no knocking. Today I put in 3.5 gallons of 91 and it is still not knocking. The power is great and noticeable throught the rpm range. The drivability is greatly improved. I am going to keep adding 91 octane until it starts knocking, but my best guess is 1 gallon of 100 octane to a full tank will do the trick. How to accomplish this I am not sure. Sears point is about 35 miles away and a trip over the Golden Gate so I am going to check for some race fuel a bit closer. Octane boosters are not an option except for methanol. 10% will work fine but all the claims of 8-10 points higher are actualy .1 octane per point so a gallon of 100 octane for $4.50 vs a bottle of octane booster $8.00 per tank which may not work.
The ECU really makes a noticble difference so I'm not giving up without a fight.

You can always go the route that Yellow Streak and I go... He stocks a 55 Gal drum and we have 6 five gallon jugs between us. Much cheaper to buy in bulk as well. Only thing to be concerned about though in your case would be shelf life. I'm not sure what effect sitting for extended periods of time will have on the fuel. Do you by chance have dyno sheets to show us the gains and max power?

No dyno sheets but seat of the pants data is very impressive. I passed by Sear pt this afternoon and the Winston cup guys were practicing. The gate guy didn't think I could get to the gas pumps. They checked everyones credentials except mine. I put in 1 gallon of 100 octane after putting in 8 gallons of 91. It is still knocking a little but if I am gentle starting off the line the knockining can be avoided. I'm going to get 5 gallons of 100 octane tomorrow. I found a shop in the city who has cool blue 100 octane for $5 a gallon so I have a closer alternative. As I said before the drivability is 100% improved. And it is worth the cash to keep it in the car.

This morning when I went out there was no knocking. The 100 octane must not have fully dispered in the tank So I am going to keep this ratio 1 gallon to 1 tank going until I can find an alternative. I used to manufacture model airplane fuel and during the 73 gas "crisis" I ran 10 % methanol to 14 gallon of regular in a Triumph TR4A with great success. I just wonder how my lady will like having a 55 gallon drum in the garage.
From a previous post I forgot to answer "my original thoughts" were that Scott at king Motorsports said the ECU requires 93 octane fuel.

It turns out buying gas at Sears Point is the cheapest in the area. 91 octane is $1.89 a gallon and several folks I met up there seem to think it is better quality than normal pump gas. In addition one has available up to 118 octane fuel however anything above 100 has lead in it. I am trying to expand my customer base up north so I can justify the trip. In the mean time. I have 2, 5 gallon fuel jugs w/ 91 and 100 octane respectively. The car accelerates better from the start and runs smoother thoughout the rev range.
