Hello peeps. I have just bought an S2000 and am loving it. I have owned an Acura GSR & have just traded in my 01 R for the S2000. I thought that I might regreat it later but now I think about it and it was worth it. Amy how I was going to get some new tires and was wondering if 245/50 would be a good size to upgrade to. Also will 255/50 be ok on my car of is the width of the rims too narrow to acomadate for this size. Any input would be greatly appreciated . Also mad props to the web designer. GOOD JOB!:)

Assuming you're keeping the OEM rims, 225/50R16 or 245/45R16 are the proper rear sizes. a 245/50 will add nearly 1" to the overall diameter. A 255/45 would be a stretch (widthwise) and also be slightly larger on diameter, and that's assuming you can find a 255/45.

So guy's should I go with the Bridgestone S02's, S03's or the Yokahama AVS ES100's. This will be an everyday driven tire for both dry and wet weather. Thanks for any input.

i think s02 or s03 is better than avs. my brother uses avs on his mr2 and he just drove my s02 on my s2k and said that s02 are better. moreover, i think he used other tires, brid, dunlop, mich, etc. on his car so i trust his opinion. i don't know where you live (oh, TX...) but i live in seattle area... rains all the time, you know. when i do need a new set (probably soon) i will probably go for s02s.

I've found the S03 PPs to be much better in the rain, not as good in the dry. Fair trade for me (living in the midwest and traveling a lot). S03s feel safe to me at semi-sane speeds in the rain, S02s require slowing down quite a bit to get the same safe feeling.

When I got my Mugen MF-10's, I, obviously, had to go to 17 inch tires. This was a choice about which I was none too happy as I LOVE the OEM S-02's. I think they are some of the best damn tires out there. But I went with the S-02 Pole Positions and found them to be excellent tires, even though my S only sees rain by accident, I found them to be an excellent choice for even the dry. Did the Dragon with them at the DB Run last year and they felt very grippy and I had no issues with them whatsoever.

The Pole Positions are designed with wet traction in mind and if you live in Seattle, I think they would be the best choice for you since it rains a fair amount. But they also provide good dry condition performance, as well. Also, if you asked King Motorsports about this, they would suggest the S-03 PP, if that means anything to you. ;)

Let us know what you go with and how you like them!

I am going to get some new rims and am having a hard time deciding if I should go with 17's or 18's. Either which way I am now leaning more towards the s02 or s03. Possibly even some bfg's G-force.

My opinion - 17" rims with S03PPs. I've always thought 18s looked out of proportion on the S2000, although there are many nice 18" rims out there.
