I consider the Olympic Pen drive to be the "practice" run for Yellowstone. That's part of my countdown. :thumbsup:
If it rains on the Oly drive, then Yellowstone is going to be THAT much better. Although, I'm hoping to get rained on by Ol' Faithful.

God I hope not! Especially not the cars. That hot water is FULL of minerals. We'd be washing and waxing our cars every day.

Actually, If we get a chance to watch the Great Fountain Geyser, we could get sprayed a little.

I'm not parking my car downwind of the geezer (I hope). As for washing my car, once I start a road trip, you get what you see. Maybe a bit of Windex for the bugs, but no washing when on vacation.

Don't worry, you won't park anywhere near the splash area of Old Faithful. In fact, if it is not windy you won't stand a chance of getting wet when you stand in the arena area to watch.

Sorry to hear that Helen. The best we can do for now is on the site. If you do have to cancel, make sure you do it before 6 July. Xanterra gives us a 30 refund for cancellations. Hopefully, you won't have to. The weather is going to be excellent. Trust me.

I definately have to cancel, we're not doing well enough at the store to take a week off. I will cancel my rooms on Friday unless someone sends me a PM wanting me to transfer them over to them.

I've taken Fri off, so I'll make a leisurely trip through the back roads to Sims Honda in Burlington, then I'll take the back roads again to North Bend, stay the night and then meet up at the brekkie place on Sat morning. I want to do a bit of the Mt. Baker Hwy on Fri.

Geez, you left it till this late to pack? I've been packed for a week already! I've been pottering around the car each evening for the last 6 days, washing, drying, rims, tires, waxing, buffing, leather, vinyl... you know the drill. Tonight I will get my camera and video gear together, load up and I'm heading out tomorrow morning. See you in Missoula, sans kidney stones.

I have my road trip packing down to a science. I wasn't going to do anything till the night before I left, but I work Friday and there are still a few things around the house I need to do last minute. Ask Ray. I carry enough tools to almost take this car apart and put it back together again. :freak:

Yay! I started this morning at a leisurely pace, took the back roads (Hwy 9) and across to Sims Honda. Then another leisurely jaunt through the back roads to North Bend. Unfortunately, there was no accomodation available there, so I drove into Issaquah and checked in. Weather was weird - sunny when I crossed the border, then all of a sudden it got cloudy, misty, rainy and then back to sunshine again. Those back roads inland from I5 are nice to drive. See you tomorrow morning at FPH.
