I have a 2001 silverstone s2000 with 105k. The dealer i received the care swares the top went down before. There are also pictures with the top down.My ebrake light does not come on when I pull the e-brake.I checked all the fuses for the convertible top and such.the brake light comes on at start up, but not after all the lights go out like normal. How do i fix the light problem.i know the bulb and fuse aren't blown,so how do i get to the ebrake to see if the plug is in tight?

You asked about this here:

http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?t=33540

Did you even check the stuff I listed? You certainly didn't respond, so we couldn't even continue with the diagnosis. I don't see why we would get any further here.
You ask questions for which you provide inadequate detail and when we ask questions of you, you don't resond. I'm not sure what you are expecting of us.
I'll leave this to others who might have more patience. I have nothing more to say other than what was in that other thread.

Have you tried starting the car while it's parked, putting the emergency brake on, releasing the top latches and trying to put the top down? The top will not go down when the parking brake is not engaged and the car standing still....

I went through all this in the first thread. He never came back to comment on what the outcome was, so I give up.
And now this ......................... Silverstone and a the amount of gas????? OK, I'm really done. If he doesn't know what kind of questions to ask, how is anyone to know what kind of answers to give. We shouldn't have to play 20 questions just to get to the bottom of things. My chain is long but it's been jerked enough.

Do not ask the same question twice in Viper's Den. If you do not like his answers and want other responses, I would suggest starting a thread in ANOTHER section, not the this section.

Besides, his answers are usually right so I don't know why you would ask again, but that's your choice.

The ebrake cable was just loose.yes I know I have to have the car stopped , un-latched,and ebrake up.You guys need to relax,it was a simple joke about gas in the tank.I figured somebody would get it.

your joke makes ZERO sense. If you come on here asking for advice about a problem, make it a real problem and stick to that problem. These people try to help to fix things on your car and do it without costing you a thing, so you should be saying thank you and trying to pull a joke that is anything but funny.

Agreed. Wow, I thought we got away from this kind of thing when we came to this site. Serious people trying to help a fellow owner and the symptoms that are given don't add up, however we try anyway. THEN a new thread is asked in the SAME section about the SAME problem by the SAME person, yet different answers were expected. THEN a completely unrelated symptom is brought up 'as a joke'. Oh, I see, that was 'humor'. I will need to remember that the next time the OP has a question about a problem with his/her car.

Methinks you've been here under another username. Your point was certainly leading to something and seeking help was NOT one of them.

fix your "parking brake", something is wrong there......get a Haynes or Chiltons...or even the Service Manual....easy enough.....

your first post

My ebrake light does not come on when I pull the e-brake

your second post

Im just seeing if anyone has any idea what else could be wrong

The truth is, until you fix the parking brake light we can not properly sort this issue out. Yes there could be other things but the parking brake is more likely the cause of this.

Please!!!!.....

If you guys kick the gift horse in the mouth often enough the gifts stop...at that point alot of us are going to be very pissed off. XViper sets the terms (which are straight forward) for access to his experience, use them or bug off. I need and use his comments all the time. I rarely asked things directly because most everything is already out there, but dont screw around with a source that many people use...he doesnt need the grief and the thank you's are free, for information so valuable.

For every king there must be a jester...
