Post up your total miles and any 'unexpected' happenings on the drive home.
1880 miles round trip.
Thank goodness the radar detector decided to work on the way home. The Nevada Highway Patrol were out hunting today.

Since I live just outside of Santa Barbara, my trip to and from S2KDays was relatively short... 330 miles each way + drives added up to just over 950 miles. I would like to tip my hat to everyone who participated; especially, everyone from all corners of the US and Canada who endured much longer treks to the Bay Area. THANK YOU!

Oxnard to San Ramon 362 miles
San Ramon-Half Moon Bay-Monterey-San Ramon 256
San Ramon-GG Bridge-Olema-Santa Clara-Oxnard 508
Total miles 1126
We followed gomarlins3 from Olema to San Anselmo and got by Candlestick before the Niners defeat of the Seahonks. Next we stopped by Santa Clara to visit our son. Our next stop was King City for fuel but had to go to two stations since the Chevron was out of 91 octane. Why is it that we always seem to be on empty in King City? Also bought some food from Taco Hell.

We made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. The plane was 10 minutes early and they had everyone boarded quickly. Landed at home about 15 minutes early.
My parents picked us up at the airport and we were home by 6:00.
Now I just need a week to catch up with sleep.

Only in Coos Bay so far. However, what are the odds that we'd pick the same city to stay in; what are the odds we would both pick CW's Bar & Grill, Restaurant to eat in; what are the odds in a restaurant of over two dozen tables, we'd be seated right next to Bill and Karen Shoemaker! I ask you, is that crazy luck or what!

I made it to Washougal Washington! Only about 12 hours with food and gas stops, and extreme northern CA is quite brown! But the trees here in Oregon/Washington are nice. And being this close to the Columbia river is pretty awesome for a desert girl like me.

I've put on about 2000 miles on the car and I'm still in Mill Valley. Leaving for home in the morning. Will give a total tally when I get home on Thursday night.

Dave were you the only Canuck:confused: Joanne and I have looked at some of the pictures and I have already put Asheville into my GPS:rockon: We really wanted to do San Fran this year but my plans to retire did not pan out so next year on the Blue Ridge Parkway:D

We are home - even though we didn't drive our S, we managed to put exactly 3000 miles on the PT Cruiser conv we rented in Vegas...
We burnt 135 gallons of gas which translates into 22.2 average mpg... Also average cost of the regular gas was 3.17$/gallon. And we once HAD to pay 3.63$/gallon in Death Valley NP    CRAZY!!!
I just filled up my Subaru here in NJ at 2.29$ for regular and my S at 2.59$ for 93 which you can't even get in CA!

You might say I was. Helen "Dansaddict" originates from Edmonton but she currently lives in Washington state so don't know if you want to consider that as a "Cannuck".
I still don't know what I'll be doing next summer. S2K Days is scheduled for August in '10. I plan to come out of retirement, at least part time and work at something, but I'm hoping it'll be flexible enough I can take the summer off and go to the meet.

Tonight we are in Flagstaff. This afternoon we visited Sedona AZ. Very nice road between Sedona and Flagstaff. We did it both in daylight and in the dark. It was way more challenging after dusk. A shopkeeper in Sedona warned us about the elk above the switchback area. We did not see any, but I know that they are out there...
Gas in Needles was a shock. 3.899/gal... Needless to say I only bought enough to get by...
Mileage total so far is about 3700.
Tomorrow it's indian country. If all works out, it's Albuquerque on Thursday.

^Needles, CA is always a huge rip-off of for gas, when I take a trip to the west of So Cal. I've learned to go across to Arizona, and up highway 66 to the Topock, AZ Shell station to save lots of $$. Williams, AZ is also bad. A year ago, I did a ten-day trip (with Spokes Man in his S2000, too) from So Cal to Colorado, and paid $3.84/gallon in Topock, AZ, and $4.30/gallon in Williams, AZ. At the time gas was $3.78/gallon near my home.
I got home this evening at 6 pm, putting on 1,565 miles since leaving on Thursday. I think my favorite drive was the one through San Francisco, across the Golden State Bridge, and up highway 1 to Olema. I loved the forest road after Olema. My '05 Suzuka baby now has 80,761 miles.

Home late last night. Total mileage was 2170 miles at 28.5 MPG. Saw no S2000s on the way down, but 1 Ferrari. On the way back, the only S I saw was Bill Shoemaker's (they happened to stop in the same town, same restaurant, same time to eat as Donna and I did.) but did see one more Ferrari. So the trip count was Ferraris - 2, S2000s - 1.

I guess it's official then: the S2000 is more rare then a Ferrari. I like it!!!

Tonight is Colorado Springs and tomorrow Firth, NE. An unexpected surprise was friends in Albuquerque took us to the NM State Fair yesterday. This was great. A tremendous fair. It's been a great 2+ weeks on the road but ready to see the flat plains of NE and use my own wash/dryer!
Looking forward to Ashville!

We arrived back in Firth an hour ago.
5180 miles total.
30.76 MPG trip average
Biggest problem we had was the grease (or something like that) that I ran over as we were driving toward Sedona. Got all over the side of the car. Really messed up Lonnie's slacks... Now most of you probably realize that this means a shopping opportunity for her... :nervous:
Thanks again to all. We had a great time!

::think: I don't understand this "glasses fly off the roof" my understanding of S2000 ownership is that unless it is raining hard reading form "the convertible owners code" at no time is the roof to be up.:D An allowance can also be made for snow but otherwise when the car goes out the roof is down:D

Amy and I made it back mid-day yesterday. Didn't take a reading of miles before heading out but our Houston->Kerrville->Tempe->Monterey->San Ramon->Lone Pine->Las Vegas->Springdale->Tusayan->Santa Fe->Fort Worth->Houston drive was roughly 5,000 miles over 12 days.
It was great to meet everyone. The drives were amazing. Thank you to the organizers! We hope that Lou gets better soon. And we are planning on being there for Asheville.
The only trouble we had was that the battery decided to die on the return from the Monterey drive. Luckily, we had stopped in San Jose. The battery had enough juice to barely crank the engine one more time and we got it replaced in no time at a nearby Autozone.

Yea, we will have to get another copy of " The convertible Owners Code". The last one flew away somewhere in Utah...
As for glasses, well, we don't talk about that! ;)
