Coil Pack/Ignition Coil compatibility across S2000 model years?

Does anybody know whether later model coilpacks can be used on early model S2000's? I have a MY2000 and I plan to replace all four as part of my ongoing misfire saga.

The price is significantly lower for later models and availability better, and I can't help but think the technology might be better.

Will using the 04-05, or 06-09 coilpacks work with my ECU and physical engine size?

At least three owners at http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=546714&st=0&#entry11963129 claim they are interchangeable prior to 2006.

I might take the risk on this and buy the 2004/2005. If I buy locally I'm sure I can test one of the four and return the other three if necessary. The dealer price is double for the MY2000, which is quite ridiculous if they are cross compatible.
