Is there anyone out there in S2KDAYSLand with any connectiions to THE golf course, ie: tee times and more importantly discounts? I would love to play it, but can't afford it.

I doubt Pebble Beach needs to discount much. Even if you can't play the course, 17 Mile Drive through it is very affordable by comparison (under $10), and one of the most scenic drives you'll find anywhere.

Last I heard, a round at Pebble was around $500 range!!! You gotta really love golf!
We will be driving through it, and hopefully be able to stop for a bit if time allows.

I also believe there is a LONG waiting list for tee times.
Would love to play it some day though.

if you don;t get to play there, at least go on the 18 mile drive - it's awesome.. we saw 8 point deer walking around on the greens there.

Just an update on the green fees.......I asked a guy putting clubs into his car. He told me it's $545 if you make reservations 18 months in advance. Otherwise, $600......WOW! He also told us that the rooms at The Lodge start at $525 a night. Guess they only want the SERIOUS golfers!

...and yet there were so many houses on the market along the 17-Mile Drive.
Makes you wonder whether the golf club might be facing an income shortfall as well in the near future.

Not realy, those are mostly second or third homes and therefore disposable and one can still afford to keep the club membership. In addition there is no shortage of prospective buyers for that kind of real estate. There is always someone wanting to move on up with the cash to do so!

Then why has the upper echelon of the housing market been hit the hardest? :poke:
