My radio in my 2000 S2k just simply stopped working today. I get nothing on the screen at all, only the red anti-theft light flashes. I have tried the radio code, and checked the fuses. Right now I have the battery unhooked hoping to reset it, if not Honda said its most likely radio failure. Here is my question. Has anyone else experienced this? if so please share you insight, second; if I replace my radio, will an aftermarket one worth with the dashboard controls? I can get one cheaper from best-buy then Honda, but I prefeere OEM and I want my dash board controls. Thank in advance.

in order to get your dash controls to work with a non-OEM headunit, you will need a DCI (dash control interface)

I have an OEM radio which I removed from my '01 in '04, which I would be willing to part with. If interested, please PM me.

I take it that you have the correct code to enter into the radio once it powers back up again? You may have encountered a momentary power loss to the radio and it's gone into "anti-theft" mode. Now that you've disconnected the power, hook up the battery again and it should ask you to enter the code. It will give you about 3 tries to enter the correct code, then it will need to be powered off again for another try. If the correct code won't work, then the radio is likely toast.
You can get another OEM radio that has its code or you can get any number of aftermarket units. The Modifry DCI will be required to keep the dash controls working. Best to go to the Modifry site and see what kinds of radios his module will work on. Get the DCI and the proper plug and play harness and it's a pretty easy install.

Repiv - The head unit is doing nothing at all besides flashing the anti theft light.

Oh yes, no offense taken.

The radio is powered by 2 circuits - one for long term memory and one that provides power at the moment. This means there's two fuses involved. You might want to check all your fuses just in case. Both of these fuses also control other things on the car. Have you noticed if anything else on the car is not working lately?

I found the problem. The 10 amp fuse for the outlet blew and for some reason took the radio down with it. I replaced that and it works again, thanks for all the help.

Like I said, the radio is powered by 2 fuses. That's one of them and it's shared with the power outlet.

You were right, but hey, I learned something today.

I had the same thing happen to me! I took it to the garage and it turned out to be that the fuse wasn't making contact with the fusebox contacts
