I've been using this synthetic oil ever since I finished my engine break in with a couple changes of a mix of Pennzoil 10W30 and Valvoline MaxLife Engine Protectant (mix equaled the factory break in oil w/ additives). Both were recommended by Road Rage (Glenn was a tribologist of note and S2K owner in days gone bye).

I just ordered another case of 24qts from the factory "consultant" nee rep that I've dealt with before. (You can locate your area "rep" via the LE web site.) The reason for my post is simply because this stuff is often hard to find either at a retail outlet or online and currently LE is shipping cases free via UPS. I'm paying $173.76/case or $7.24 per qt delivered. The extended change interval offsets some of this cost. With a high spinning high compression engine like the F20C, I want to use a top drawer engine oil and the LE 8130 Monolec has satisfied that desire for me.

Normal caveats re no affiliation, etc ad nasuem.

Bob

I too have run this oil. I am however waiting for my motor to hit 10K so I can once again start to use it. (Note: 110K on teh car, 9K on the motor, my fault, not honda or the Oils))

A UOA would be very informative to see how this oil compares to other brands and types of oils used in this car.

Dave,

You participated in many of the LE8130 threads back in 2004. One quote from Glenn that I find interesting is: "some of the lowest wear analyses and highest TFOUT studies I have ever seen were from Havoline GF-4 and LE 8130"

There were some UOAs posted on various web sites but most of the uploaded data images no longer show. This one has enough discussion to be somewhat useful http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=581249.

Thanks, Bob, for reminding me. 2004 was a long time ago for us older folks. I do miss Glenn's valuable insights into all things oil.
