Although I know that the Honda XM module is extremely over-priced, I went ahead and ordered one anyway. Afterall, the car is worth it. I telephoned the local Honda dealer to find out what they'd charge to install it - they got back to me after speaking with their mechanics who said it'd take a full day to do it (8 hrs). At $80/hr, I wondered why I couldn't do it myself. So, I did. For those out there who have wondered whether or not you could do it - you can! Took me about 3 hours and I was a noobie! The scariest part is drilling the trunk - 2x10mm holes look pretty big back there, but, the rest was very easy. The XM antenna supplied by Honda comes in one color - silver. My car (an '07) is Laguna Blue, so, I ordered matching spray paint (adhesion promoter, base paint, and clear coat) and finished that job today. All in all, I am very happy with the installation and the fact that it maintains the stock appearance is a real plus for me. I'd be happy to answer any installation questions directed to me.

I think this topic would be better suited in the S2000 Inside Outs forum. Moderator? :overhere:

LOL - where wer you when I needed you, Ted?
I got the XM as an option when I bought my '0 Laguna, and I was the butt of jokes for a good year and a half before I finally got mine painted.
Now, in my '02 Spa with a Pioneer head end, I need to install XM again-wish there were a way to make the OEM antena work, but none that I see that are easy, so again, I'll have a different colored wart on my trunk. And Pioneer says NOT to paint it. (sigh)

Not to hijack...but if it's aftermarket just put it on the front/ center of your dash by the windshield...I have been doing it since XM came out in all my cars...It'll be fine :yep:
Back to your regularly scheduled program...:sprint:

Good thought, Justin - might try that first if the wire is long enough - the brain unit is going above my gas tank in stock position though, so not sure if it'll work...
