I'm about to change my00 from plastic to glass, the question I have is there anyway to hook up the rear defroster without buying a hard top wiring kit? I don't know what amp fuse ti would need, but would it be possible to change the cigarette lighter to a toggle switch wired into the defroster?

The rear defroster on the soft top is a fairly high draw heating element. The accessory plug circuit is not likely strong enough to power such a device. People have blown the fuse while plugging in far less draw.
The defroster on the hardtop and the soft top requires not only the wiring harness but is also involves a relay that must be plugged into the fuse panel. I don't believe it's going to be as easy as you would like it to be.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm kinda old school where you all you had to do was find a hot wire ,ground wire and switch in the middle to make things work.
