Going to Fort Myers this weekend to autocross the 04 S2K. This is my first time running a rear wheel drive car so I'm not sure about the tire pressure I should use. Remember the 04 has 17" tires and will be different than earlier models. Thanks and when I return I'll write up my opinion of the 04 autocrossing, on OEM tires.
One way of determining the correct pressure for your car is to inflate to the factory recomended pressure then paint lines on the tires from the rim to the tread using white liquid shoe polish (4 or 5 will do). Don't worry it washes off. Do some hot laps and examine the shoe polish lines. If any has been worn off it means the pressure is too low on that tire allowing it to roll over onto the side wall. Adjust until you get it right.
As a rule of thumb the lowest pressure you can run without rolling it over onto the sidewall should give you the best grip.
Good luck.

Great information! I would have never thought to try that. I am amazed at what I learn on this board everyday.
Thanks.
