I am looking for recommendations for track tires for my 2002 S2000. What is everyones experience with sizes and make and model of tires. i have 16" and 17" wheels so I can use either size.

Thanks,

The most grip you'll get will come from the Hoosier R3S03. They don't last long though. On OEM rims, 225/50 front and 245/45 rear (with a beefier front sway bar) is a good combo.

My track tires are Kumho Victoracer V700 (same sizes as the Hoosiers). They last longer, are cheaper, but don't have nearly the grip. The Toyo RA-1 (again, same sizes) offers a similar compromise. Another option would be the Michelin Pilot Cup Sport, but they are rather pricey relative to the V700 and RA-1.

If you're going to run 17s, I think the proper sizes would be 225/45 and 245/40, but you may not be able to hit those sizes with all the tires I listed.

I'll vouch for the Hoosiers...they are awesome. Grip like nobody's business, but I paid a pretty penny for them. They are also extremely light because they have a nylon belts, instead of steel.

You can't go wrong with this choice, but be prepared to pay. I ran them on the stock wheels in the sizes WSB quoted.

My choice is the Toyo.

They last and last. You have to get them warmed up. So, they are not a favorite among autox folks but for the track they are a great buy.
