I arrived at El Paso Airport and had to wait for Coop and Victor to drive 80 miles still to pick me up. I found this patio and waited there

Then we drove to Las Cruces to pick up donated drinks. (picks of the trailer and all are on another camera so they'll get posted later.) And we went to eat at La Posta! A building that had been a bar in Billy The Kids day.

Then on to Alamogordo we went. The sand was blowing so hard we could barely see in front of us so there aren't photos of us arriving.

So this is the flag blowing at boarder patrol. Then after we went thru I got ready to get a pic of them taking Victor away ... (a young mexican in a new corvette in this area usually means STOLEN!! lol :D ) But they let him go thru... no drama to report!

So today we were going to go up the mountain to the tunnel and hike down to the waterfall. But first they were doing construction on the mountain and so we had to wait for 15 mins and then we found out the whole forest is closed due to Extreme Fire Danger.

So we drove to the village (Victor took pics there) and then to the sunspot overlook.

so, I didnt take any pictures on my drive from houston to new mexico, but i got pulled over in west texas by a state trooper for having no front plate, chances are i'll get pulled over on the way home too! we managed to make it to las cruces,nm in the afternoon driving non stop from houston from 1am.

so anyway lets start with the pics i did get, this is where billy the kid used to hang out at.like cammie said its named la posta I took pictures of the town center, la posta in spanish means the post

A few miles outside fort stockton, the trooper just wanted to chat about randomness after he pulled me over. giving me tips like "running the vettes tire pressure 40psi" too bad the jackass was completely wrong because at 42 psi my computer runs warnings telling me i have too much tire pressure :rofl: i just told him thats really good advice! and ran off with my warning

anyway more pics now that they uploaded, so here we were still at las cruces waiting for our pepsi sponsor to give us our drinks.

Looking through the pictures brings back great memories of our two trips to New Mexico. La Posta made the best margarita's that we've ever had....food wasn't bad either. :) In fact, our first road trip in 2003 with our S2000 was to White Sands, etc.
