several times I have clashed gears, while shifting.[I know, smooth shifting is a must] how do i flush the tranny out? what do I use to flush it with? I am going to change gear oil soon anyway. anyone think this is a good idea? to remove metal particles would makes sense to me. thanks LK:doh:

I only flushed once and used Honta Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) as the first refill fluid to do it. By flush I mean drain, refill, drain again and refill.

I did it because I wanted to filter the fluid. I have a magnetic drain bolt but I wanted to see if I could find any bronze-like material from the synchros when I was having a 1-2 and 2-3 (and opposite) shift grind. I did not find any synchro material but the grind got better with the Redline MT 90.

Some folks use the straight Redline MTL, some a blend of Redline MT and MTL and others GM Syncromesh as the final fluid.

King Motorsports recommends the Honda MTF.

You might want to move your seat up one or two notches. Sometimes you can grind the gears because in the heat of the moment you don't full depress the clutch (or let out too early). Moving the seat up sort of makes you fully depress the clutch and slightly alters your timing.

Try it. You might be surprised.
