Will it bolt up ok to an HKS Hi-Power Exhaust?

I am also concerned with under hood temperatures because of the supercharger already.

Well Scott it should bolt up being that you will need a High flow cat or a test pipe it would not Bolt to the HKS but to the Test pipe or Cat then to the HKS

As far as temp goes you can run a heat scheild if you like but i dont see the temp getting to serious even with the SC application involved

There is a Used test pipe available on out for sale forums you should get that i know that will work great nice 70mm test pipe and a megan header NICE!!

The exhaust basically comes in three sections - the header, the cat (or t. pipe) and the cat back exhaust. If you buy any of these parts, they must be for an S2000 and thus, would have the correct flanges to connect one to the next.

As far as underhood temps and a supercharger goes, the increase in underhood temps is minimal. Only a turbo injects more heat under the hood because it concentrates the heat in and around the turbo. A supercharged S on an otherwise stock engine bay (ie. stock header and heat shields) should not be that much hotter than a completely stock NA S. It's when you dump the OEM header, with all its heat shields, that engine bay temps skyrocket. Then there's an easy countermeasure to this. Get a vented hood.

..or buy a Rick's header that accepts the OEM heat shields.

ok, first of all I don't know what I was thinking. When I walked out the door I just freaking realized that the damn header doesn't even bolt to the exhaust.

I messed up

you got me.

LOl

I say nooooooooooo to vented hoods!!!!!!!!! Rain+Hot s/c = I cant imagine.

Is my car gonna run like poop and have less HP without the heat shield?

Is the Megan header any good?

You don't have to imagine. I'll tell you what it's like. I've had a vented hood on my Vortech S for 5 years. I drive through some really heavy rains and I park outside and get a foot of snow on it before I drive it home. The engine is waterproof. The blower doesn't get any hotter than any other part under the hood. Besides, it's not like the water comes gushing in all at once and the little bit that falls on the hot parts do nothing. Don't let your imagination run amok for something that's been done by many for years.
I have a Toda header (no heat shield). Before the vented hood, I've recorded underhood temps getting close to 90*C (that's almost boiling water). After the vented hood, the temps rarely get above 60. Such extreme underhood temps can be detrimental to all the rubber and plastic parts not to mention helping to make the intake manifold so hot that even the intercooler won't be of much use.

Your car will run fine without the heat scheild. Or wait for X viper to say same

So if I don't want, or plan to get a vented hood I should go with something like this?

Correct. Rick's product will allow you to bolt the heat shields back on.

However, before you go out and buy a header, what is your ultimate goal? I think it's already been said that changing the header won't produce mind boggling gains. All you'd be doing is lose some weight and tuning what's "under the curve". Know what it is you want before spending money. You might just end up spending money for the sake of spending money.

Scott, also I ship these from Houston, so you could save on shipping too if you want to pick one up (from my home or Curt's shop)

To by honest, if you must get a header, get Rick's. The Toda header that I have on my car is one of the most expensive on the market for the S and I can't really tell you it does anything.
