After a little accident close to the dragon, I had my insurance replace my bumper and fix damages.

Unfortunately, they missed a spot.

Condensation got pretty pretty bad in my headlights, but I didnt know just how bad until today. I mustered up the courage to take off the bumper and remove the drivers side headlight, which has an immense about of condensation. When I took it off, I tilted the headlight, and I would say about 5 cups of water was inside the housing. I swirled it around until I found where the water would come out from. Well, I found it and I am now baking the headlight housing in the oven.

I was advised to bake my headlight housing at 225F for about 7 - 10 minutes. Unfortunately, there is still a little left so I want to bake it further.

At 225F, could I be damaging my ballast??? And how long is too long.

Ive done this to both of my headlights already, your ballast will be ok. I have baked my headlights in the oven multiple times. Its best just to get new headlights, no matter how much I sealed mine up it managed to come back everytime.

Bake it at 200 for 20 minutes....this is my usual time for pulling them apart, will likely work well for moisture.

There is one key spot where moisture can enter....the braided line going into the ballast.

Remove the hose clamp, and pull back the braid. You'll see a red and a black wire. Seal these two wires with silicone, then slide the braid back.
