I know that we have a self adjusting clutch but I wanted to know what the clutch push rod adjustment will do for the clutch? Does it change the engagement point of the clutch or just the height. I fell like the clutch comes in to near the floor and would like to see if I can move it closer to me. I have just bled the clutch and the fluid level is good.

Anyone know about this.
Thanks

Yes. Crawl under your dash with a 8 or 10 mm open end wrench and loosen the jam nut on the clutch rod just forward of where it connects to the pedal. Once you get it loose, back the nut off a turn or so and twist the rod CW (I think), working in increments (1/2 turn, 1 turn, and so on, until the pedal engages where you want. Then tighten the nut.

Rocketman is correct. That's how you adjust where the clutch begins to grab. It does NOT change the pedal height. Keep track of which way you're turning the rod. You can serious screw up the adjustment if you forget or go too many turns at a time.
WARNING! Do this pedal rod adjustment ONLY if your clutch system is in otherwise perfect operating condition. For example, if you suspect that there is a need to flush and replace the fluid due to air or other contamination, this should be done FIRST before messing with that rod.

I got that from your other threads. I just bled the clutch and it grabs very well I just didn't like when it grabbed.

I have made the adjustment and just engaging the clutch in the driveway it is more to my liking.

I am going on a test drive to see how it feels on the road.

repiv. I am sure you hear this alot but Thank You very much for all of your advise it makes having the car an even more enjoyable experience.:worship:

Perfect!! Exactly what I wanted. I like the seat far back and I was missing some shifts becuase the engagment point was so far to the floor. So I moved the seat up but just never felt comfortable. After the adjustment I was able to put the seat back were I was more relaxed and used to. Didn't miss a shift and finally moved my shoulders back and what a blast!!

I think I need a sponser like AA that I can call with all of this stuff. My wife thinks I have lost my mind.
