I was driving the other day and wanted the windows down a little bit. The driver side went down a little bit like I wanted but the passenger side went all the way down. Now I can't seem to get it to go back up.
If I try the driver side switch for the passenger window, nothing happens at all. If I try the passenger side switch, I can hear a click sound when I try to bring the windows up. I have already tried changing the window regulator so I know that is not the problem. I checked the fuses next to the car battery and under the dash of the driver side but everything seems ok.
Does anyone have any solutions to my problem. And hopefully a cheap solution.
Thanks

I have already taken the door panel off when I changed the passenger window regulator. I didn't see anything that was wrong. My guess right now is the clicking sound is the problem but I was hoping someone with more knowledge would be able to shine in.

Dave (Xviper) will be with you momentarily...please enjoy the hold music till he gets to your question...;)

No, no, no! There's a lock out button on the drivers side door panel near the switches. Go look for it and push it. That's the most likely cause.

Nope its not the lock out button. I already checked. The passenger window won't move regardless of its the driver or passenger switch.

You have? Those things are hundreds of dollars each and involves taking the door and window nearly completely apart. While you were in there, I would have thought you'd have checked everything in there, one of those being to "hot wire" the regulator. Did you?
It may still be something as simple as the passenger "lock-out" switch (on the driver's door) having a bad contact. Did you check the harness inside the door to be sure it hasn't come loose? You're positive you've played with that switch? It's generally the most likely culprit.

Well I found someone selling an extra passenger window regulator at a good deal so I picked it up. I examined the harness and pushed in all the wires but it didn't do anything. The first thing I tried was the lock out switch so I don't think thats it.
I noticed the click sound is coming from under the dash of the passenger side. I have heard suggestions that it may be the convertible top control unit, but I really don't know.

Check ALL harnesses related to the window operation, including the one under the center console where the top control switch is. That one has been known to slip loose a little. Pop up the center console and unclip the harness and clip it back in. What happens when you try to operate the top?
