When i got to austin about 3 weeks ago i went to pull out my GPS charger and the whole cigarette lighter plug came out :duh: . i was just wondering how i would be able to fix that. It still works fine but it just comes out everytime i try and unplug something

You have to take the whole console out. There is a screw that you can only get from behind the plug.

Its really not that hard to take it out. Go to jpm's website and they have instructions on installing the center console. that tells you step by step how to get it out.

It is a slightly arduous procedure, but if you are handy and have a couple tools it can be done. Remove the console. Remove the 2 screws under the console and the one inside the compartment. Remove the clothes hooks from both sides and pop off the panels. Remove the screws now visible from the console. At this point you may be able to sneak you hand under the console, recover the plastic part which holds in the lighter. If you can accomplish this don't forget to plug in the wire after tightening the plastic part. If you can't reach the part, then you will have to remove the console and this will require a lot more work. If don't have the service manual, I would get one at this point. You need to remove the roll bar covers and several other parts. Do this with top up as there is a panel behind the console at the bottom which has 2 screws and to pins.

Good luck

Jonathan is right. You might be lucky and manage to do it without taking the whole console and roll hoop covers apart. I was installing a small switch on the side of the center console and I was able to just touch the back of the accessory plug. You need really small hands and arms to be able to do it. Maybe find someone like that to help you.
If you have to take that thing apart, don't do it without the manual. It is very complicated and you'll have fasteners and parts all over the place.
