EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System)

I have a megan header, invidia test pipe with o2 trick, and spugen exhaust. I've run that setup for almost a year without a problem.

The tank before last I accidentally put 89 octane in (shell likes to switch their pumps around) but only drove about 2 blocks to autozone and put some octane booster in, and still took it easy on that tank. The first CEL came up near the end of that tank of gas. I put fresh 93 in and reset the ECU, it was fine for about 2 days (long days, ~200 miles). Then today when i'm halfway to work (about 10 miles, properly warmed up before I left), it kicked on again. I took it to Autozone to have them give me the code the guy said p1457, I told them what that code was (had taken the list with me) and he said "Oh, gas cap". I said "Thanks", reset the ECU again and left. After doing some research, it appears 1456 is the gas cap, and 1457 is ???

Thanks in advance!

edit:

Did some searching on the other site and found out I need to take it to the dealer, especially considering I have no idea where the evap canister is.

The EVAP cannister is near the rear left wheel. If you look from behind towards the left 1/2 shaft, you'll see a black box with a "honeycomb" pattern on the end of it. That's the EVAP can. On that thing, is a purge valve. You may have a bad purge valve or a bad wiring harness or one of hoses going or coming from the cannister is damaged or fallen off. The cannister itself may be cracked. It has nothing to do with the type of fuel you've been using. It is a fuel recovery system the pulls fuel vapours out of the system and puts it back into liquid form so it doesn't go into the atmosphere.

also - make sure the gas cap is tight by clicking 4-6x
thats the #1 of all CEL's

Thanks for the replies, I am guessing the valve is going bad because it takes it awhile to come back on. I will climb under there tonight and take a look at it. If everything looks ok would the valve be the first thing to replace?

Not necessarily. Diagnostics on this is a series of tests to determine exactly which component needs attention. It could be mechanical or electrical. Start with making sure the wiring harness has good contact by disconnecting it and looking inside. Clean if necessary and plug back on. Then check all hoses for cracks and damage. Reset ECU. If CEL comes back, then you'll need the dealer to go through the tests. Changing the purge valve without knowing what's really wrong could be a needless expense that may not resolve the problem.

Also... make sure the hoses are not clogged with spider webs n such

Checked the hoses, looked ok, pulled the sensor harness and re-attached, and reset the ecu. Have put about 30 miles and it hasn't come back, but I'm not confident it will stay off. I'll keep you updated. Thanks again for all your help.
