I guess if you know how many were built that year you could figure it out.....
"**EDIT**These are the number SOLD in the US.**
From what I can figure using Hondanews.com:
Year to date through July '06- 4288
2005- 7320
2004- 7780
2003- 7888
2002- 9684
2001- 9682
2000- 6797
1999- 3400" gomarlins3

I see. There's nothing magical about those numbers. It's just the last few digits of your VIN. You can see it through the windshield of your car just in front of the driver's seat, on the front edge of the dash.
For example:
JHM AP1 1 4 * Y T 000001 ..................... interprets as follows:
JHM: Honda Motor Co., LTD, Honda Passenger vehicle
AP1: Line, Body and Engine Type ................ S2000/F20C1
1: Body Type and Transmission Type ........... 2-door Convertible/6-speed Manual
4: Vehicle Grade (Series) .............. Base Model
e: Check Digit
Y: Model .................. 2000
T: Factory Code ..................... Tochigi Factory in Japan
000001: Serial Number ....................... For U.S. model: 000001, For Canada model: 800001
All you're doing is reading of the last 6 digits to determine the build number of your car for any given year. I have 800738. All that means is that my car was the 738th one built for Canada in the model year 2000. Like I said, there's no great magic to it.
