Hi im looking for people opinion on what i should ask the dealer for concerning my cars issue. Now i purchased a s2000 off a dealership not brand new but a private sale from dealership. I had a little problem with the car and so i handed it in to the dealership to check it out. They tore apart my engine at least this is what they say and reported the damaged parts to me with a price. I paid them for all the parts to be replaced and got a call in to pick the car up. When i went to pick the car up i noticed the check engine light was on when i turned the car on. So i go back in to the service desk and ask for someone to come check it before i drive off. A tech came and looked at the car, scanned my ecu and check the engine coolant for air traps. After resetting the ecu he said go drive the car dont worry its nothing major because the ecu scan did not report anything. And if the light comes back on just bring it back. The problem is that ive been trying to take my car in but they said there was no time avaible to look at my car and to come back on monday. So i come back home and check my engine oil level, and to my surprise the engine oil level went from High to Low in just one day. This includes me not reving the engine past 4000 rpm think im breaking it in. And when i pulleed the dipstick out i saw smoke come out of the litle hole. Now my cars basically runnng without oil. Now i know its not my fault but i dont what to ask for. I also noticed the car runs noticably slower and sluggish. The repaid i did prior to this which i paid for was a case of "overrev" and my valves and a couple of other parts were replaced. Could they stand this against me somehow?

You should ask the dealer to make you whole. It's that simple.

You would be well served to document all of this. Write up a note of the events in diary format with dates and times and keep these records and send copies to the dealer in the form of service notes when you bring the car into them or in the form of e-mails to the service department. Get the name of the technician and the service folks that you deal with and take instruction or guidance from in this circumstance just to protect yourself in the event things go very wrong.

Harry is dead-on with good sound advise. You may also want to have a look at this thread:

You find it is about the same advise with a different twist. Please keep us informed on how things are going. We may have a few more cards to play in your hand.

It is bad they put you thru the BS for a vacuum hose, but it is great to here that the car is doing well. I would still follow up with a letter just make sure that experience does not go unnoticed by the powers to be.

Good luck and congratulations.
