Dave,
I'd like to start off by say how are you doing?I've asked you many questions when you were on the other site:) .anyways..
My elastic went out on my top and ripped two holes on my top when i was lowering it one day,so I took it in to a honda dealer and they replaced it under warranty.took it for a drive with the top down and everything seemed fine..(I normally don't drive my car everyday)and the other day i noticed a noise coming from the frame of my top when i was making a sharp turn.(like something was loose inside the frame.maybe a screw or something)have you ever run into someone with the same problem?can I take care of this without taking it back to the dealer?
peace

Entralled...I just replaced my top a few weeks back...a hell of a job that I did myself, you are lucky that the dealer did it for you. Mine picked up a rattle as well and it took some time to track the sucker down.
There are lots of screws and plastic rivets that can be the source of the rattle. And if the installer was not careful to remove remains of the metal rivets in the bows, then those can rattle as well.
Where is the rattle coming from...have you been able to localize it?

If that is where the sound is from then my guess would be that the installer did not blow out the rivet remains from inside the bow. When you drill the old rivets out to replace the straps, the remains fall in the hollow bow. There is a rubber stopper on the ends of the bows and sometimes you can tap the bow until the remains slide out...but the quick sure way is to use air from a compressor to blow those bits outta there.
S2ki?? What is that? Some other forum? (shhh...I'm a spy ;) )

eye see...so i just pull off the rubber ends and just get something to blow it out then...this was my first thought but just wanted to make sure before i go and pull things apart.
Thanks

Just out of curiousity Dave:
How's you're soft top holding up? I've had zero problems with my '00 other than the driver's side window regulator. Well, other than the rear window maintenance of course.

My soft top stays under my HT for about 6 months each year. So far, the soft top is in perfect condition. I polished the plastic window up many years ago and covered it with static cling tint. This protects it and keeps it clear and the crease is even not too bad. The top continues to be a marvel to me in the way it goes up and down so quickly. So far, no holes have appeared and none seem to be forming (keeps fingers crossed). However, I am planning to re-inforce the pressure points this spring with Gorilla Tape from the underside.
My driver's window reg started to act up in the second year, but I added an Autoloc device and I've never had any problems with it since. It even has auto-UP - a bonus. I'm not sure what these new people are on about "the early model S2000s being troublesome", but mine has not presented itself with an issues that was considered a repair. The Autoloc device is worth about 50 bucks and nothing else has broken that I didn't break myself during all the heavy modifications I've done to the car.

Mine was two weeks to the day after the 3 year warranty ran out. Had about 5600 miles at that point. They "good willed" the parts but not the labor. Haven't been back for service since.:D

I had the same noise after my top replacement -- popped the plug off the end of the bow and the remnants of two pop rivets fell out. Noise gone.
