We are getting ever closer to D-Day. I have been getting a few questions about this event as of late and I thought it would be good to get a few things going. Some of you have been wondering about caravaning to Keystone. Since I don't know everyone's schedule leading up to the event I thought it would be wise to open this up to discussion.

Please post here what your plans are on getting to Keystone. Maybe we can get a few of you synced up so you can travel together.

I'll be heading north from Houston via Dallas and OKC on I-45/I-35 and then take a left on I-70 to US 385. Not sure about the exact timing, yet, but if anyone wants to meet up along the way, I am sure we can arrange it. :)

I plan on making the trip to Keystone in one day from Minneapolis. I want to be there early so I can get settled in and be ready to meet our other travel mates. This means that I will be leaving on Saturday the 26th (arriving a day early).

Since most people were able to get rooms at the K Bar S, I suggest that we make that our first group meet point. I assume that most people will be arriving on Sunday the 27th. With this in mind, lets try to get everyone together at 6:00 in the K Bar S lounge/hospitality room on Sunday.

Ulrich has put together a great trip packet with landmark descriptions and contact info for all attendees. We can use the contact info in the packet to track down any stragglers.

I am interested in joining the drive for the weekend since it is only 6 hours away. Is there a thread for the event with the info. I can not seem to find it. thanks,

Denver

Glad to have you, but since we don't get together until Sunday afternoon, is it worth the drive if you already have to go home again on Sunday night?

My schedule is pretty flexible, so I could make it work an extra day or two. Can't pass up spending time with some great s2000 folks making some sweet carves.

Winnipeg to Bismarck on Saturday. Not sure how we will get there. It's tempting to hit the interstate but the neat little towns are on the side roads.

Plan to go through Spearfish, perhaps the needles highway cause it was so great about 30 years ago. Then on to Keystone. We have a room at the President's View Resort.

Works out to a little over 6 hours of driving each day. Gotta stop and smell the roses.

s2kbobby...

You may be able to meet up with Fredric and Irish Rose on the way Keystone. They live near Fargo, ND (I think) and they could be taking a route similar to yours. You may want to send them a PM.

You should send c-zap a PM to check on his plans. I bet you could meet him in the Minneapolis area and then travel together the rest of the way.

Our plans are in a state of flux right now. We were planning on just driving from Fargo on Sunday but it looks like I may have a commitment in Bismarck on Friday and rather then drive back to Fargo and start all over again we may just continue on from Bismarck and arrive on Saturday. Bismarck is over 1/3 of the way to Keystone for us

It looks like we will miss each other in Bismarck as we don't plan to arrive till Sunday in Keystone. I'm getting all worked up already. . . .

At this point I plan on staying in Sidney, NE overnight on Saturday. There is a Holiday Inn right around the intersection of I-80 and US 385. Internet rate is $85/night with one week advance booking.

If anyone happens to be passing through town at the same time, we could roll up to Keystone together the next morning. 300 miles to go from Sidney, so I figure a leisurely 5-hour drive with an early-afternoon arrival.
