I'd like your opinion.

The black rubber molding that the back of the hood rests on.
Removing it seems to have further solved a heat soak problem for me with out venting the hood or going carbon fiber. it really frees a lot of air.

Can you see any detriment to it? Other than I may cook my windshield wipers? Or is this one of those tricks I've been missing all these years?

thanks

Have you been through a rain storm with this setup yet?

Just took a look at mine. Rain water is direced to each side close to the windshield and then down the far left/right sides of the firewall. Might suck up some extra heat into the A/C air intake.
Otherwise the removal should lower underhood temps.

I don't see any real harm in not having that rubber strip there. Since underhood air pressure can get quite high at speed, I'm not surprised that the escape of hot air at the bottom of the windshield would help reduce underhood temps. However, in the same token, I can see that during wet weather operation, that volume of air coming out at the base of the windshield may cause a less effective windshield wiper action (think "air hockey"). If this doesn't present a problem, I guess it doesn't matter.

I did this awhile back, Seemed worth it. No problems in the rain. Less heat soak too
