Ok, so i need to do the brakes on my '00 S2K, and i think i already know what im putting in but i wanted to run something by you all. on my 96 integra, i used a combination of Rotora slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads, which are not ceramic. this was a great combination; ive never had a single squeal out of them. i think this may be due in part to the Rotora slotted rotors (the slots may evacuate dust that would otherwise cause squealing?) Anyways, the question i have is whether i should use the HPS pads like before or the Hawk ceramic pads on the S2K. ive never used ceramic pads and ive heard they have a higher tendency to squeal but produce less dust. were ceramic pads factory equipment? id appreciate and recomendations or oppinions. thanks all.

it really depends how you use your car.

the HPS ones are nice for daily driving

I have Stoptec slotted front rotors and Hawk HPS pads and they work very well. I have the the stock rotors in the rear with Hawk ceramic pads and they are tearing up the rotors. So I would not use them again.

Why not just use the stock pads? Aside from flat-out track driving, they'll handle pretty much anything you can throw at them, they're fairly soft so they don't chew up your rotors, and they're about as good as most aftermarket pads anyways. Most of us wouldn't notice a difference in braking distances, only in pedal feel... They're also pretty cheap! Dusty, but cheap.

Looks like a nice kit, JT. Would you PM me a price for everything?

I wonder if my wife would get suspicious if "the brakes went out" all of a sudden? :D
