Okay, now that we have our own forum for this event, let's do some serious planning... :)
Just like at S2KDays last year, let's all bring a twelve-pack (probably enough given the limited number of participants on this trip) of local brew to the event, and let's plan on a beer & pizza night of sorts on one of the evenings. :brew:
Who's in?
Ulrich - Independence Brewing Co. (Pale Ale / Wheat Beer)
4U2NV - Tuborg or Carlsberg
Wanderer - Foggen Lager or Hopluia
s2kbobby - Two Rivers Red and Fort Gary Dark
c-zap - local brew from Duluth and/or Ashland
Fredric & Irish Rose - Bell's Amber Ale
Larry - Park Point Lager
Griffon - Leinenkugel

Melinda and I will bring some "Danish" beer - Tuborg or Carlsburg.

No decent beer in Minnesota, eh? ;)
I was going to say that Carlsberg was a Swedish brew, but you are correct, it is indeed made in Copenhagen. Personally I'd prefer the Tuborg, though.

OK. We're in. Now to decide on either Foggen Lager or Hopluia... Both are brewed in Cortland, a town... er.. village of about 200 folks.

Boy this thread just gets better and better. BEER!!
Rachel and I are both beer drinkers. I like anything on tap and Rachel prefers dark stuff like Guiness.
If the plans work out you can expect some Two Rivers Red and some Fort Gary Dark from a local microbrewery in Winnipeg.
Bobby and the co-pilot,

There's a brewery in Duluth and in Ashland so I'll bring some suds :drinking: :drinking:
FYI-
The gas station on the Wyoming/South Dakota border has a great selection of beers including beers from the New Belgium Brewing Co (in Ft. Collins, CO- they make Fat Tire). They also tend to have cheaper prices on gas.

I just tried a Duluth beer, Park Point Lager, it was on tap but I'll see if they'll bottle some. It was good.

BTW, watch out for the Speed Traps around Lusk, Wyoming for any of you all venturing that route on your trip. Especially coming down hills...

No, Pripps is the king of Swedish beers. :brew:
Haven't heard of it . . . huh?
I guess that is why the hydrofoils to Copenhagen were packed every weekend prior to the Oresund bridge.

So you are in as well? Excellent! (First post updated :) ).
I'd think that if everyone brings a 12-pack, we should have enoigh for the exchange.

Renee and I will be bringing six or seven different brews from local Wisconsin breweries. We would also like to offer our Cabin at the Powderhouse lodge which is about 1 & 1/2 miles from the Bar ??? place that many of you are staying. It is a stand alone cabin with plenty of room and privacy should any onefeel the need to make noise. There is also whats looks like an eligant eatery on the premisis or the order a pizza thing which would work nicely too. As you will see, the beer we are bringing is VERY SPECIAL.

Now that Joe is joining us, we probably should increase the quantity to a full case. :poke:

I can probably bring some Leinenkugel beer, if no one else is. Are we still doing a 12 pack or is it a case now? It could be a very thirsty drive there.

Bring whatever you can fit into your trunk. Just leave some space for the dried bananas and home-made jerky! ;)

Bought the beer today. It's from a brewery in Austin, Independence Brewing Co.
Some of you get to enjoy a wheat beer; the rest will have to make do with a pale ale.

Sounds like a blast & I would love to. Just can't do it right now. :( Besides, I may end up finding the only case of Pripps in the US and bring that. I don't think anyone wants that!:yikes:

Bringing some Fort Gary Dark Ale and some Two Rivers Red, from the same microbrewery.
I've bought a keg of the Red for a house party and it sure goes down well from the tap.

We are bringing a case of Bell's Amber Ale. It is not from North Dakota but it comes from a small brewery in Kalamazoo Michigan. Rose Mary and I went to college in Kalamazoo many years ago. We are both natives of Michigan but we have not lived there in over 40 years.

Well, we finally made it over to Spilker Ales and have the Foggen Lager and Hopluia in hand. :D It was close on that one.
Gotta go!

Having received several requests for the silly "customized" beer labels I created for the event, I thought I'd post them to the site. At the very least, they ought to be easier to read.

I'm not sure about his taste in beer. Our members tend to be a little more discerning.

That's exactly what Dick told me as I was posting the photo.
