Anybody have a clue where I can find some S2000 ECU schematics or info? For ****s and giggles, I'd like to build my own...but I don't have a clue about the different sensors and effectors to which it connects or the signals and yada-yada.

you should look into the megasquirt if you want to try something like that
it's very popular with the miata people

Although the Helm service manual gives some superficial information, I think for what you are trying to do, you may need to have the Helm electrical service manual. However, having never seen one, I can't vouch for it having what you seek.

You have practically zero chance of getting the actual schematic, but even if you did, I would give you even less of a chance to get any use out of it. If you need the schematic to make a new ECU, I can all but guarantee you're not going to know how to interface all of the necessary components.
I've been working on my own replacement on and off for several years now, and it's no easy task... multitude of sensor types and voltage ranges, EMI to worry about, product safety, etc. I highly suggest starting off ultra small and work up from there, say, start with a simulated spark plug controller that sends a PWM signal based upon a gas pedal input (i.e. potentiometer). Once you have that, add in an air pressure sensor and associated maps. Start small, think big.

Hey Mac, how nice to see you here. It's been a long time.
Vortech, MacGyver knows his electronics.

I appreciate everybody's response here.
I have seen MegaSquirt, but i don't have the confidence in the design to use it on my car.
As a side note... I understand that this is no trivial task, and even with the hardware aspect solved, I would also have to tackle the software and mechanical aspects. Yes, I understand the drawings of the actual factory unit are proprietary and I won't be getting my hands on them. But, I figured I'm not the only person who has thought of reverse engineering the unit.
Anyway, back to the original question. Anybody have useful schematics?
And I know my electronics too.
And by the way Mac, are you trying to tell me that you'd rather start an ECU from scratch than reuse some of Honda's design?

Hey MacGyver, do you have schematics? If you've been working on this for a while, perhaps you've reverse engineered the factory unit.
