Dave
There is a dent in my hardtop about the size of a quater.
Because this thing is Aluminun will that be a problem
trying to get this thing out, is it even worth the cost of trying to fix it?

I saw a guy from DenWizard perform miracles on an OEM hardtop with four decent size dings in it.

The PDR guy we had in Indy took out a dent the size of a baseball from the very front of my Hardtop. It was right on the seam at the front so he had to work really hard - spent about 45 mins on it. They did that one and 4 small body dings for $60, and I was so embarrased I gave them an extra $20. You would never know there was a ding in the HT - the work is almost perfect, and was well worth it. Those guys are simply amazing.

How did they get under the headliner?

How did they get under the headliner?
I was not watching it directly because it looked so tedious and I was busy with a higher priority, Guiness, but he did it and did it well indeed.

In my case, they did not get under the headliner, they hot-glued a puller tool to the center of the dent and pulled it up, then tapped it back into alignment while they had lights positioned so they could check things out via reflections. As I said, iif you didn't know exactly where to look, you'd never find it - only evidence is a slight - and I mean slight- rise right on the seam. They did a fantastic job on it, and I hightly recommend their approach.

You've received some very encouraging words so far. The great thing about our hardtop is 2-fold (in terms of dent repair). 1. If necessary, you can remove the headliner entirely to get at the dent from the other side to massage it out. 2. I think aluminum is easier to work with than steel in that it's softer and don't need quite so much "elbow grease" to get the job done.
If the paint is not jeopardized, I think you stand a very good chance of getting this fixed and you'd never know anything had happened to it.

I have a ding myself (from the orbital buffer I let fall over!). I think I will try the removing the headliner prior to the guy coming out approach. I have a manual, so it shouldn't be too hard.
