Not sure about this but I've been noticing when I'm shifting into 1st and sometimes 2nd gear there is a slight thump coming from it feels like right behind me center. It feels like it's underneath for sure. Could this mean I need a clutch adjustment? I only have 275 miles on the car. It doesn't do it all thim either

Sounds like you might not fully disengaging the clutch before you shift - the thump would be the propshaft jerking from the shock.

That's what one of my buddies told me, but I'm pretty much to the floor during normal moving shifts and when I stop I hit the floor. I'll try and watch that. Guess I'm starting to get a bit paranoid reading all these different sites and forums about problems. That's not good. If I bought a ford escort it would be a different story, no sites, no forums bla bla bla :)

Take it to the dealer to see if something's wrong. You never know.

Well, you might be pushing the pedal to the floor, but if it's not adjusted right the clutch might not disengage... Or it might be a timing issue.

I'd go with Rick's advice, or have a trusted friend drive it and see if he/she has the same troubles.

Stopped by my dealer today to pick up a dual sub box and amp that I left in my trade in and I talked to the service manager. He said it "could" be any number of things and to bring the car in as scheduled @ 1k miles for an intitial check up. It's weird, I drove my wife into work this morning and it didn't happen at all. Oh well :) I'll keep you posted on what they say after 1k.

BTW, I was going to polish my car with Z5, Z2, and ZFX today and tomorrow but it's so damn humid and rainy here! ARGH!! I'm gonna wait till I get a couple of really nice days, since it's my first time using this stuff. If I mess up I want time to fix my mistakes.

Along the lines of what West Side Billy said, if possible, have the service folks see if the fork is causing the release bearing to move fully way. Sometimes the splines are not fully greased/lubricated from the factory and the release bearing does not travel its full design path to release the clutch.

Hello

I do see this same thing in my car, I took it to the dealer that I purchased from and he said it is nothing to worry about ! I am going to take mine into Honda for a second opinion.

I do pay attention to push all the way to the floor, but this has no effect.

Mine does the same thing. Basically its very noticable if you go from reverse to 1st gear, you hear a clunk.
