Laguna Seca here we come!!!

Come on out to Laguna Seca with Leadfoot Adventures and T.E.A.M Racing
on Thursday Nov 2nd for a great track day at this world-famous road
course! T.E.A.M. and Leadfoot Adventures are known for their low cost -
high value events, and this one is no exception! Registration is only
$285 and will open at Motorsportsreg.com Wednesday night. This
event is expected to fill up quickly since Laguna events are hard to get
into and usually cost over $300 (sometimes way more than that!)

As always, breakfast in the morning and bottled water all day are
included at no extra charge. All drivers are welcome to attend the morning
classroom session as well as the instructional novice and intermediate
download sessions throughout the day. Each driver will receive at
least 5 run sessions and will be sharing the track with other drivers of
similar experience/skill (novice, intermediate, advanced.)
Gates open at 6:45. See ya at the track ! :D

Anyone ever here the phrase "play big or stay at home"? Well, Leadfoot Adventures is taking the Laguna Seca date on our own. We will be opening registration within a day, maybe 2. So far, we have unofficial commitments of about 30 people, so if anyone is interested, we ask you to hurry and sign up!

Since he's run the Box out there already, maybe it's time to break in the Ridgeline. Let me rephrase that: run the Ridgeline. ;)

Just make sure you get FULL insurance. Then it won't matter how you trashed it, as long as you return it by the return date  ...with a full tank of gas :lol2:

You guys have got to succeed so I can eventually get out there for an event with you. No idea what I'd drive. Heck I'd be happy just to instruct so I could get on the track.

My brother and his friend are flying in from Philadelphia to drive with us. The are renting Boxster S's for a day at $250.

I totally want to go but am in the middle of trying to buy a house so $$$ is tight. It's especially painful because my last job and current job are both within 5-miles of the track and the place I'm trying to buy is about 10 miles from it. Arrgggg....Gotta find some money fast...

Congrats on the goal of buying a house. Let me know if I can help you with it. I'm a mortgage guy working here in NorCal.

With a possible sellout happening, we encourage everyone to pay when registering to guarantee your spot. If there is a waitlist and there are registrants who haven't yet paid, those slots will be forfeited to those on the waitlist who will pay. Here's the link and see you at the track!!

I will be coming up on Wednesday. But past that, I don't have a clue.

Right now I am off to Best Buy to get a game with Laguna Seca.

I really hope more S2KCA members take advantage of this. After all - it's Laguna Seca! Perry and Vinny have worked hard to set this up and it sounds like a great deal. Also remember that as an S2KCA member Lead Foot offers a $10 discount for you track junkies. It sure would be great to see some more S2000s out there!

We're going to set up a hotel discount and announce it pretty soon so stay tuned for that.

I have a question for you guys, too... we want to get some people together to chill and socialize at the wharf in Monterey, maybe at the Blue Fin. Which night would you prefer to do it?

The night before the track day?
Right after the track day ends?
Both?

I'm still waiting to hear from back from the hotel for details, but we should know by tomorrow what the rate will be.

So far in less than a week of open registration and we are more than half filled!!

My bad, the novice group does still have some slots open. All run groups do, actually. :)

Okay, here’s where we are now… the event is about 2/3 full, and we have the following spots still open:

Adv: 8 open spots remaining
Int-1: 8
Int-2: 5
Novice: 6

The hotel discount will be at the Mariposa Inn in Monterey (http://www.mariposamonterey.com/). Call 1-800-824-2295 and tell them you’re with the “Leadfoot” group. They have 6 rooms available at $59, 11 at $69, 7 at $79, and more. It’s a pretty nice place, and it’s only a couple miles from the track. :)

I did not go over the website in detail.. is the $285 per car or person? I may have my son convinced to bring his C6 out to play if I fly out to the west coast to join him. Both of us have some track time but none at LS and we will be on street tires so what spot do we go for? I suspect Novice will have slow traffic so will Int-2 be the right choice?

If you each want a run group of your own, like him in low-int and you in high-intermediate, then each of you would pay $285. As long as your son has 4 or more track days of experience then we'll allow him into our low-intermediate class. :)

That is a great deal and could work well for us but right now he has not cleared his work schedule.. If we make it at all it will be a last minute scramble for us to get registered and me to get a flight.

The event is approaching capacity now, but there's still a little room. A few drivers have yet to pay up so waitlisted drivers will have a decent shot to get in. Here's what's still open:

Adv: 7 open spots remaining
Int-1: 6
Int-2: 3
Novice: 1

monkeymaker
10-23-2006, 06:51 PM
The novice run group is now completely full. Any novice drivers who wish to attend are welcome to register, but please do not pay because you will be put on a waiting list pending a spot opening up for you. Novice drivers are those who have 3 or fewer track events of experience.

monkeymaker
10-25-2006, 06:57 AM
As of right now we still have room for up to 5 more drivers in both the advanced and high-intermediate run groups. We also still have one spot to fill in the low-intermediate session before that one starts a waitlist like the novice group.

We have more Evo's and Miata's than S2000's this time, so hopefully a few more of the S2KCA clan will be able to make it. :)

So, who else is driving up from the greater LA/SoCal area tomorrow?

I am kicking off work about noon and am planning on hitting the road shortly after that. Google says it is about a 6 hour drive from my house, and I would like to arrive fairly early to be well rested before Thursday. However, I am willing to bend my plans a little to make it a group drive.
